Fresh Australian Garlic

Rating: 5.0 out of 5

A true standout of the season. Locally grown Aussie garlic fresh, fragrant and full of real flavour, nothing like the bland, imported stuff. Its punchy aroma and sweet heat make it unbeatable for roasting, crushing, frying or using raw in dressings.

Australian grown garlic, harvested in season and sold fresh. Locally grown garlic reaches you closer to harvest, which shows in the firm cloves, tight skins and full flavour.

Garlic changes character with heat. Raw, it is sharp and punchy. Slowly roasted, it turns sweet, mellow and spreadable, which is why a whole roasted bulb is one of the easiest ways to transform a dish.

Crush it through butter for garlic mash, tuck whole cloves into a roasting tray, or roast a whole bulb alongside your potatoes until soft and golden. Garlic and potato is one of the great pairings: try it through a creamy mash of Dutch Cream.

Store whole bulbs in a cool, dry, airy spot out of the fridge and away from direct sunlight. A whole bulb keeps for weeks; once broken, use the loose cloves within around ten days.

Two whole garlic bulbs with several peeled garlic cloves arranged on green leaves against a solid black background.
