Healthy ground grows better potatoes. Our growers rotate crops and keep chemical inputs to a minimum so the soil stays alive, full of the microbes and structure that give each variety its flavour.
We measure success not just by this season's harvest, but by what the land can give a decade from now.

No plastic netting, and minimal excess. Our boxes and bags are recyclable and home compostable wherever we can manage it, printed with soy based inks.
Same week dispatch keeps food miles and waste low, you get them fresh, avoiding our spuds waiting in a warehouse.

Spud Sisters works with a combination of potatoes grown on the family farm near Ballarat as well as a carefully selected network of trusted growers across Victoria and interstate.
Some of these farming relationships go back decades and include multi generational farming families who care deeply about quality produce and sustainable growing practices.

Our philosophy has always been centred around seasonality, quality and responsible farming rather than trying to force varieties outside of their ideal growing conditions.

There's a quiet case for the humble spud that often goes untold. Potatoes are one of the more resource efficient carbohydrate crops, producing more nutritious food from less water and less land than many other staple foods.
Where crops like rice and wheat tend to ask a great deal of the land and the water table for every kilo they yield, the potato gives back more for less. It matures quickly, thrives in cooler climates, and packs a remarkable amount of energy and everyday nutrition into a small footprint.

While we are not a certified organic supplier, we do work with some certified organic growers and occasionally have organically grown varieties available.
Many of our growers also use low intervention potato farming practices wherever possible and take a considered approach to crop management, soil health and long term sustainability.
